Future Festival Preperation

Well, it is that time of the year where festivals are happening around every corner.

iamthemandy attended their first festival at the Perry Pride Fall Festival.

Setting up, greeting festival goers, writing receipts etc., all sounds like a simple task, however there were many things that we needed to improve on our end as a new festival vendor.  In order to remind ourselves with our now short term memories and to help you out, we have complied a list of must haves and tips for your vendor booth in the future.

1. Set-up : Get there early, weather permitting. Pop-up tents, tablecloths and overall booth design is important to attract festival goers.
2. Display: Multiple heights, add some dimension. Don't display your goodies all flat on a table, prop them up. Shoe boxes are great to stuff under your table cloth for an added dimension. Have multiple tables? If so, adjust them so one is slightly higher than the other, not all interested parties are the same height.
3. Materials: Wind, rain and even the sun can strike havoc to your set-up. Travel with a small tote bag that has, stakes, tape, rope, scissors, pens and even paperclips. Rubber bands are great for many solutions as well.
4. Signage: People know what they want. Get a large banner that can be hung or consider a sidewalk chalkboard sign that you can nestle out front of your booth listing your products.
5. Literature: People don't always buy the first time around. Have literature with your contact information for festival goers to take with them. It is a constant reminder throughout the day and even in days to follow.
